We welcome original pitches that help a general reader understand cricket, follow a match or find a thoughtful way to take part.

What we welcome

Pitch clear, focused pieces about cricket’s rules and rhythms, watching, informal play, equipment care or the customs around the game. Strong ideas answer a real reader question without requiring specialist credentials, expensive purchases or risky demonstrations.

A useful pitch

Send a working title, a short outline, the intended reader and the main point the piece will leave them with. Explain what makes the angle distinct and note any sources, images or commercial interests relevant to the proposal. Do not send a finished article unless requested.

How to send it

Submit proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before preparing commissioned work.
